Freezebreaths are Ice Minions from Eldris. They attack with a cone-shaped frost breath, which slows heroes hit. If there are enough Freezebreaths attacking at the same time, the hero affected gets frozen.

Lore

Freezebreaths, then near harmless Eldrisian predators, now are devastating destroyers created by the Darkspore plague. Possessing large lung capacity, freezebreaths owe their name to the ability to exhale supercooled air, which slowly freezes organic tissues exposed to it. If multiple freezebreaths attack, their target exposed to such low temperatures, in the end, perishes, becoming an ice statue symbolizing Darkspore triumph on Eldris.

Behaviour, Attacks and Traits

• Medium-fast for a Minion
• Attacks with a frost breath, dealing Energy Damage in a spread cone
• Frost Breath slows the hero for a short time (if there are more than one Freezebreath, the slow stacks)
• If multiple (6/5/4) Freezebreaths attack, they freeze the hero for a short while

Strategy

Note: Strategies used here are only with use of Genetic Heroes from Darkspore: Operation Ulozc.

Freezebreaths have a very simple mechanic. They walk up to range and start a frost breath which slows the hero for a short amount of time. The breath spreads itself in a cone, making Freezebreaths able to hit additional opponents. The breath's slow, if the breaths of different Freezebreaths were used simultaneously, will stack. In the end, if the minimum required amount of Freezebreaths are collected, the combined power of the frost breaths used will freeze the heroes caught in the breaths' range.

The best way to tackle Freezebreaths is to stay out of range of their frost breaths. Tempests and ranged Ravagers are good choices against these Darkspore. A specific hero noted to be good against them is Sheero, the Hurricane Summoner. His Unique Ability, Hurricane, will damage and slow the attacking Freezebreaths and his Squad Ability, Storming Gust, knocks back affected enemies, making them stay even longer out of range.

Several other tactics include using AoEs such as Brok's Moisture Attack + Pressure Overload combo.

• Onslaught Freezebreaths have the Basic Feet from Spore. They also have Arcturus' masks and Maldri's Gravitic Scythes.
• Freezebreaths' frost breath is similar to the fire breath of Pyros. Their body structure resembles however Charging Grendels.
• Polar Freezebreaths have Krel's head, Polaris' masks, Vex's Draconian Scimitars and Magnos' feet.
• Nipping Freezebreaths have the Chompasarus mouth from Spore C&C.
• It takes 6 Freezebreaths in Onslaught to freeze a hero, 5 in Invasion, 4 in Aspocalypse.
• The Freezebreath's original concept was a reptilian figure. This is reflected through the Special Elite Freezebreath.
